How long does it take the rainforest to grow back after deforestation?

It takes centuries to grow back a whole rainforest. Growing trees takes a long time and only some of it would survive after a treeplanting activity. Most of them would be eroded by floods since there are no other trees to absorb the rainwater. It's basically the survival of the fittest.
