Is it at all possible to realistically practice a reconstructionist religion alone?

I've been researching for months on the Norse Gaels or Gall Gaidhel, and as I myself feel very close to the gods of my forefathers. However, I've had no people or groups to talk things out with or discuss things with. Is it possible to practice a reconstructionist religion as much as possible using only heavy research and an intent to honor the gods?
